The Dorset Mud Trail

A couple of months ago, we were really excited to see a post on Facebook about a new mud trail that was opening up close to Corfe Castle.

The Dorset Mud Trail, which opened to the public at the end of March, is based in the grounds of the Dorset Water Park and claims to be “the best active family adventure in Dorset, in any weather!”

We decided to visit the Mud Trail during the Easter holiday and chose one of the rare days that it wasn’t raining.

Easter Holidays – Week 1

Of all the school holidays, the Easter break is by far our favourite. Half terms go too quickly, the Christmas holidays are too busy doing Christmassy things and the summer holiday is, dare I say it, too long! Generally the Easter holidays see a change in the weather, lighter evenings and lots of different activities put on to get you out and about.

We started our holiday on Friday straight after school with an impromptu trip to the beach. TJ loved making sandcastles and even managed a quick swim in the sea. Weymouth beach is just lovely – lots of soft sand and shallow waters which mean we can relax and watch TJ splash around without a worry.

National Trust Membership – it’s a no-brainer!

A couple of days ago, we were thrilled to discover that one of our photographs had won the weekly #NTChallenge competition. Every week on Instagram the National Trust decides upon a theme and then asks followers to upload photos with the hashtag #NTChallenge. Last week’s theme was ‘Lights’ and we decided to upload this picture of TJ when we visited Kingston Lacy the other week.

We love this picture as it really shows how beautifully decorated the rooms in Kingston Lacy are and TJ stood for ages staring at the enormous tree. If you haven’t been before, we would really recommend a visit.
