A cycle ride at Moors Valley Country Park

After spending the days since Christmas Day eating leftovers and having relatives to visit, we decided that it was time for some fresh air.

After a quick check of the weather yesterday morning to see that Friday was going to be a washout, we decided to get wrapped up in our new scarves and gloves to take TJ for a spin on his new bike around Moors Valley Country Park.

When we got there, the car park was full of people with the same idea as us. We headed straight for the cycle hire to get bikes for us so that we could cycle round with TJ – something we’ve never done before.

Cycle hire is very reasonably priced at Moors Valley – £6.50 per adult bike for 1.5 hours (£12 for 3 hours or £19 all day.) We hired a couple of bikes for an hour and a half, collected our helmets and map and headed through the forest on the blue route.

TJ was absolutely brilliant. He’s really mastered his bike now and I was really impressed at how he navigated the tight turns and narrow paths through the trees. It wasn’t until we were on the wide straight path that he took a tumble but after a medicinal biscuit, he was soon back in the saddle!

While having a stop off at the cafe, a check of Instagram showed that our friends MyTwoMums were also at Moors Valley. A quick text message between us and we met up outside the visitor centre. It was lovely to see the boys’ faces when they saw each other – I actually thought they were going to burst with excitement!

It was great to get out and about after a few days indoors. We ended up buying a season ticket for Moors Valley so will be making lots more visits over the next 12 months – we can’t wait!

We took the Go Pro out for the first time in a while – here’s a little video we made of our adventure.

That first breath of Fresh air after Christmas is wonderful for the soul. I have only ever driven past the entrance to Moors Valley travelling East to see family but I know from past Country Kids posts how much fun it is. A great idea to check out if other bloggers were there, I know it is a favourite with the lovely ladies of My Two Mums, always makes things more fun to meet up with friends. A great little Go Pro video too, I always forget to take ours out these days.

Thank you for sharing with me on #CountryKids
