A couple of days ago, we were thrilled to discover that one of our photographs had won the weekly #NTChallenge competition. Every week on Instagram the National Trust decides upon a theme and then asks followers to upload photos with the hashtag #NTChallenge. Last week’s theme was ‘Lights’ and we decided to upload this picture of TJ when we visited Kingston Lacy the other week.
We love this picture as it really shows how beautifully decorated the rooms in Kingston Lacy are and TJ stood for ages staring at the enormous tree. If you haven’t been before, we would really recommend a visit.
We are big fans of the National Trust and decided to take out memberships last year after visiting Corfe Castle for the first time. Moving from London to Dorset has meant that we have lots more places on our doorstep and a membership offers fantastic value for money. We pay by direct debit and, as TJ is only 4, we don’t need to pay for him yet. It costs us just £8.25 a month for both of us which is less than it would cost for just one adult to get into most National Trust venues. We also love how ‘child-friendly’ the attractions are. There are always little activities for children to complete – TJ has made Christmas decorations, completed Easter Egg Hunts, made a wooden tortoise as well as ticked off some of the 50 things to do before you are 11 3/4.
If you need convincing anymore, here is a list of the places we have visited in the past 12 months.
St Michael’s Mount
We estimate that in total, we have saved well over £300 on entry fees and parking costs and have really enjoyed visiting these beautiful places.
National Trust Membership – it’s a No Brainer!
